Zappa. Snorkless.

I have just gotten back from seeing the Zappa Plays Zappa show at the Kodak Hall in downtown Rochester. It was fantastic. I am a bit puzzled over Dweezil’s choice to forgo the use of snorks in his performance, as the snork was a favorite tool of Frank’s. (A good example of the snork can be seen in the following cough drop commercial…)

However snorkless the show was, it was exceptional. Dweezil certainly does cover a lot of ground. Here is the playlist in a nutshell:

  • Stink-Foot
  • Hungry Freaks, Daddy
  • Oh No
  • Montana
  • Let’s Make the Water Turn Black (Instrumental)
  • Dirty Love
  • Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance
  • Apostrophe
  • Drum Sola
  • The Black Page
  • Eruption / Somebody Get Me A Doctor
  • Boodledang
  • You Didn’t Try to Call Me
  • City of Tiny Lights
  • Cosmik Debris (encore)
  • Willie the Pimp (encore)

A nice lineup, overall. It was a terrific show. Glad we went.
