I would always travel by train if it were more reliable and convenient. Otherwise… If I can add a few extra days to the trip… Nothing beats the car. Complete freedom to stop and explore… Find the best bar b que or most unique museums or take a day to get drunk on a beach.
Road trip! I like to avoid interstates and take the scenic byways! These less traveled roads are often 4 lane divided roads that pass thru charming small towns and wind around rivers. Some include a draw bridge, ferry boat crossing, or island pit stop! It takes longer to “get there” but who cares when you’re enjoying the drive so much!
